Black Sand varð til árið 2012 þegar Ásdís stofnandi þess bjó um tíma á æskuslóðum í Vestmannaeyjum en þar var hún fædd og uppalin. Slagorð merkisins er island treasures eða fjársjóður eyjanna vísar í hugsanlega fjársjóði sem svörtu sandar suðurstrandar Íslands halda en þar er að finna ógrynni skipsflaka sem kveikja í ímyndunaraflinu og lönguninni að leita fjársjóða.
Okkar stefna er að nota umhverfisvæn efni og liti í framleiðsluvörur Black Sand, markmiðið er að gleðja viðskiptavini okkar með góðri hönnun á sanngjörnu verði.
Ásdís Loftsdóttir er hönnuður Black Sand og eigandi.

The label Black Sand was founded in 2012 on the beautiful island of Vestmannaeyjar (Westman islands off the south coast of Iceland) where the founder, Asdis Loftsdottir, was residing for a few years. This was her childhood home and birthplace and holds a special place in her heart. The brands slogan “ islands treasures” refers to all the treasures to be found in the black sandy beaches along the south coastline of Iceland, the sands are said to hold many a sunken vessel that alights ones imagination to search for lost treasures.
Our philosophy is to use eco friendly fabrics and dyes in all our Black Sand products and our goal is to make you the customer satisfied with your purchase as we strive to make good quality designs at affordable prices.
Asdis Loftsdottir has a BA degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design from the American College for the Applied Arts (London and Los Angeles)
We give back by supporting local charities and cancer research by donating regularly to them.
